Organic skincare gift boxes for my bridesmaids!

Packed these for my bridesmaids for our meet-up tomorrow! I'm so glad that these precious ladies have agreed to be my maids-in-waiting to help me out on the actual day 👭

These are in addition to the bridesmaids dresses that I've bought and passed to them previously. But I felt like I wanted to do something more!

What's in the box:

I wanted something special and customised for these girls who have played such a big role in my life while growing up.

Experimented with lots of ideas, but in the end I went with organic skincare because, well, who doesn't like #dayrebeauty right haha.

4 items went into the box:

🌺 dried rose and lavender flowers
📜 a personalised name display which they can frame up after the event
⛅organic spf 25 gel sunblock
💄organic matte oil-control and pore reduction finishing powder

At first, I wanted to DIY my own card with watercolours and calligraphy for them, saying "I couldn't say I do without you". But then as the date of our bridesmaids meeting drew nearer (and D got hospitalised), I realised I didn't have enough time to do all that artwork, much less complete 6 of them.

So I opted for a simpler and smaller one instead! They can frame this up and put it on their bedside table too,so it won't go to waste after the wedding is over.

For the core gift, I thought of giving jewellery or engraved bracelets after watching melissackoh's recent video, but then I realised it was probably sponsored and there's no way I could afford those, especially given the rest of the wedding items that we need to pay for. (Hers were so pretty! It had so many diamonds on it and was made by an expensive jeweller 😱 ahh I not lucky enough to be sponsored by MT so never mind.)

Also, not all of my girls wear jewellery often! Sheena and Elaine, for instance, are quite no-frills. So I had to think of something else.

Eventually settled on organic skincare because I thought that would be meaningful and also more universal. Being a huge fan of organic skincare myself, I basically bought them my favourites off local brand Blended!

The brand and business is mostly run by my good friend Irene, who really is quite a superstar because she manages a baby, a household, her husband's business and also this entire organic skincare line! She has brought it into Naiise, Megafash and excluniqueeee retail stores.

I've been using their gel organic skincare since 2 years ago, and I love the refreshing afterfeel on my skin right after applying which I can still feel after a few hours. Made from aloe vera, Vitamin E and their special blend of essential oils, it is the ONLY sunblock I've ever used that protects my face effectively without causing breakouts! (I've super sensitive and acne prone skin…)

One of my friends uses it every weekend when she has to be under the hot sun for hours, and the first time she used it, she got sunburnt everywhere except her arms and face where she applied it to! Crazy effective omg.

I don't wear sunblock everyday, but I used it extensively during my trip to Taiwan last year in summer, while I applied Banana Boat on my body. At the end of the trip, my face was still quite fair, whereas my arms and legs had turned 5 shades darker!

Took this from their instagram cos I don't have any nice photos lol

And also this photo from fionaseah.com where she reviewed the products. I'm meeting this girl next week like FINALLY.

Not much marketing materials recently, maybe cos now they've gotten a lot more renowned due to word of mouth. Also, the #girlboss just gave birth not too long ago!

(I tan really easily. Just 5 minutes under the sun will turn me a shade darker urgh.)

This sunblock retails at only $18 and lasts for a really long time cos you only need a small amount of application each time! I don't know how long it lasts since I don't use it daily, but if you do I'm guessing 3 months worth of product?

The sunblock is Blended's best-seller, even more popular than their much-raved-about Vitamin C serum and Manuka Honey Mask (like Fresh's, but much better imo).

I was stuck between getting the Vitamin C serum or the matte powder for the second item, but decided that the powder would be more portable and perfect in Singapore's weather.

It removes shine, reduces the appearance of pores and smells fruity! Retails for only $15 and doesn't make my makeup look cakey.

Filled up the rest of the boxes with dried roses and lavenders because they're so pretty 😍I wanted to add dried baby breaths but couldn't find much!

Oh, and the gorgeous boxes! I've been searching all over for them but didn't find any that was of the correct size and design until 2 weeks ago. Guess where I found them eventually at?

DAISO!!!! I should have just went there right from the start aiya. I think it might be a new design? Cos the rest were either plain or the Christmassy types which I didn't want.

Total cost : $40 per box! 😍

If any #dayrebrides are thinking of DIY-ing your own bridesmaids gift boxes, hope this sample helps? 😊

For #dayrebeauty or #dayremakeup junkies, can try the organic skincare range from Blended! They're so affordable considering it is completely organic and natural, with most products ranging just from $15 to $39.90! Can test and try them in the retail stores listed above too.

Bridesmaids dinner happening now! Spot the 2 cute stuffed visitors lol.

Salted egg yolk carrot cake!

Healthy salad from love bento because I gotta control my diet lest I can't fit into my wedding dress…

Can't believe the wedding date is approaching so soon… there's so much to do on my plate that I don't know if I can get everything done in time!

Didn't expect so many of you to be interested in the investment courses I attended! Will try to reply all your emails over the weekend k!
