Venice – last day!

Live music and crowds in a Saturday afternoon in San Marco Square.

#nofilter #dayretravels Venice is so pretty. We spent today just roaming around on foot and getting lost.

Hubby's idea to take this photo ๐Ÿ˜‘

The Grand Ballroom was being blocked off, and it seemed like they were preparing for a performance?

The Royal Box, which was originally 6 box seats demolished a number of times over history.

So grand ๐Ÿ˜

๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

And visited the Opera Fenix (Phoenix) at Amanda's suggestion to see an opera interior, and our host Nichola who pointed us to this place, also known as the "Opera of Paris" by the locals!

For just 10 euros each you can get an audio tour of the place which we absolutely loved! I got my ticket for 7 euros cos #student ๐Ÿ˜‚

Romantic Venice.

But actually I was telling hubby, that anywhere can be romantic as long as you're with the right company.

Lunch : cheap pasta at Dal Maro's

Found this gem on TripAdvisor and it is apparently one of the most famous places in Venice for cheap pasta!

Sure enough, the queue was so long when we arrived! It moved quickly though.

Most pastas are between 5 to 7 euros, and you can add your own extra ingredients for 50 cents or 1 Euro.

We tried the $7 pesto, $7 squid ink and $6 bolognese!

Pasta pasta everywhere.

Here's our lunch!

The ingredients and sauce were given in generous amounts! I hate it when I have too much pasta and too little sauce. Here, it was the opposite problem! And look at how much meat is still left despite us almost finishing it already!

๐Ÿ‘ highly recommended for anyone visiting #Venice in future!

San Polo square I think? Found this on our way to the Leonardo Da Vinci museum and it was such a great place to people watch!

How the locals eat. Little bar snacks with alcohol (usually spritz).

San Maria Gloriosa dei Frari. An absolutely gorgeous church right next to the Leonardo Da Vinci museum. I was gawking at it from the outside, falling in love with the tall windows. I would have gladly paid to enter but turns out that it was free to visit! Highly recommend this for all budget travellers!!

Scuola Grande S. Rocco. Look at that super gorgeous architecture ๐Ÿ˜

We paid 10 euros (7 for students) to enter the Leonardo Da Vinci museum and it was such a great decision! Spent about 2 hours there.

Yessssssss to that quote.

One more gorgeous photo of the church ๐Ÿ˜ I think this is way better than San Marco Basilica, but that might also be because I've a soft spot for red bricks and places with fewer crowds.

Finally found a Traghetto! Took the 2 Euro trip just so we could compare with the gondola.

On the Ponte de l'Accademia aka bridge.

I've been wanting to catch the sunset at Zattere after our host recommended it, but was afraid it'll be too far for us to walk since we no longer had water taxi tickets. Instead by God's grace we stumbled upon it at exactly sunset this evening while getting moderately lost in Venice!

Scala Contarini del Bovolo.

Recommended by our host again, located in a small and easy-to-miss alley. Nick couldn't find it once we reached the area, it was I who located it ๐Ÿ˜‚

Blink and you'll miss the alley turning! It really is that small!
