If, like most office folks, you didn’t have the luxury of time to take off today for the crazy Black Friday sales, here’s my pick for some sites you might want to bookmark for your last-minute shopping when you get home in the evening tonight:
1. Qoo10
This site is my absolute favourite! I get almost all my stuffs from here (now you know where Budget Babe shops, oops) because they are seriously much cheaper than in retail stores, but also have various sales running to help you get further discounts! What’s more, I love the fact that I can find homegrown entrepreneurs on Qoo10 as well, which helps me #supportlocal even more.
I would get this, if not for the fact that I already own one with my boyfriend. |
2. Zalora
What’s there not to love about Zalora? My boyfriend is a huge fan of their site, and my friend even got $6 boots once during a sale! You don’t have to rush home from work in order to catch their offers either – they run from today until Monday, so the only thing you need to worry about is your favourite designs running out of stock!
I’ve already picked up a few heels for work for $12 each – that’s a great bargain!
3. Courts
I’ve been in the queue for over an hour on Courts since lunch hour started, because there are a few household appliances that I’m hoping to get before Christmas. With up to 90% off and so many people visiting their site, there is even a virtual queue you have to get in line for! Once you’re in, they only give you 10 minutes to browse and check out. Evil, but I guess there’s a price to pay for sales.
Was tempted to get this, but decided to skip in the end. |
Updates: So I reached the front of the line, with the blinking man walking…and then Courts locked me out, saying that my time on the site had expired, when I didn’t even get a chance to browse at all! I ended up having to wait ANOTHER hour before I got in. Was hoping to buy a camera but they didn’t have any good ones on sale so I ended up not buying anything.
4. Luxola
For all you beauty addicts, Luxola is having up to 40% off their beauty products which makes it a lot cheaper to stock up on well-loved brands like Benefit, SK-II, NARS and more! The sale barely just started, and runs from 12pm to 12am only for today, so this is one sale you have to rush for.
Now’s a good chance to buy your Christmas gifts for that beauty-holic friend of yours.
5. Lelong.my
This is like the Malaysian version of our Qoo10 – only cheaper..but with a catch: shop at this site only if you have a kind Malaysian friend with a local credit card and address to help you out!
The site is offering up to 90% discount for Black Friday, and my shopping cart is already filled with at least 4 items within the last 10 minutes (mostly items I’ve been waiting to buy for the longest time). I snagged a pair of exercise pants for RM18 or SGD 6, compared to the SGD 29.90 the retail store auntie tried to sell me at!

The best part? Given our current exchange rate to Malaysia ringgit, the amount of savings is incredulous! I put this last because the major downside is that you will need to ship it to a Malaysian address, so unless you have friends who can help you out there, this site might not be a good one for you. It is a little troublesome to ask your friends for a shipping favour, but hey, that’s a small price to pay for these crazy savings.
With love,
Budget Babe
